Armenian - Armenian (English spelling)
They are the main inhabitants of Armenia, located between Asia Minor and the Caspian Sea, and account for more than 90% of the country's population (about 3.2 million people). In addition, about 340,000 people live in neighboring Azerbaijan, about 380,000 in Georgia, and about 370,000 in Russia, within the former Soviet Union. An estimated 5 million Armenians live abroad in the Middle East and Europe. Armenians have characteristic traits such as a short head, black hair, black eyes, thick body hair, and hooked noses, but there are some differences between the south and the north. Their language belongs to the Indo-European family. Their religion was influenced by ancient Iranian religion, but in the early 4th century, they adopted Gregorianism, the oldest branch of ancient Christianity, as the state religion, and this church is the center of ethnic unity. Traditionally, they have a large family system consisting of several households of 60 to 80 people. Furthermore, conflict continues between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast in Azerbaijan, where the majority of the population is Armenian.
