A brown algae of the Dictyogramma order and Dictyogramma family. The algae are leaf-like, leathery, thick, and fan-shaped with concentric lines. As it ages, it splits vertically. It grows in colonies in tide pools near the low tide line. Various types of algae grow on the surface of this algae.
