Methylamine

CH ₅ N (31.06). _{CH 3} NH ₂ . A primary amine. It is found in Euphorbiaceae and other plants, bone oil, and wood distillate, and is also produced together with ammonia when animal and vegetable matter decays. It is produced by heating methanol or formaldehyde with ammonium chloride. It is a colorless, flammable gas with an odor similar to ammonia. Melting point -92.5 °C, boiling point -6.7 °C. 0.699. It is a stronger base than ammonia, with a p K _{a of} 10.68 (25 °C). It is used in synthetic chemistry for tanning leather and for various other purposes. It irritates the skin and mucous membranes and causes chemical burns. The hydrochloride salt is a hygroscopic plate-like crystal with a melting point of 232-234 °C. CH₅N(31.06)．CH₃NH₂．第一級アミンの一つ．トウダイグサ科，そのほかの植物，骨油，木材乾留液中に存在し，また動・植物質が腐敗分解するとき，アンモニアとともに生じる．メタノールやホルムアルデヒドを塩化アンモニウムと加熱してつくられる．アンモニアに似た臭気をもつ無色の可燃性気体．融点－92.5 ℃，沸点－6.7 ℃．0.699．アンモニアよりも強塩基でpK_a 10.68(25 ℃)．皮なめしや種々の目的で合成化学に用いられる．皮膚，粘膜を刺激し薬傷を起こす．塩酸塩は吸湿性のある板状結晶で，融点232～234 ℃．[CAS 74-89-5][CAS 593-51-1:塩酸塩]
