Born on September 15, 1865. Served as Imperial Guard military officer, instructor at Toyama School, and principal of the Nagoya Local Children's School. In 1904, he served in the Russo-Japanese War as the battalion commander of the 34th Infantry Regiment, and was killed in action at the Battle of Liaoyang on August 31. He was 40 years old. After his death, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, and in recognition of his brave fighting despite being wounded, he was revered as a military god, and Tachibana Shrine was founded.
