Miwa City - Miwa no Ichi

Japanese: 三輪市 - みわのいち

A market in ancient or medieval Japan. According to a copy of the Bushu Documents (1415, 22nd year of Oei), a market ritual document (dated September 9th, 1361), the first market was in Miwa (the same legend exists in Nagano on the Aichi River in Omi), and it states that markets in various provinces were opened by gods. This suggests that Miwa also had a connection with a specific shrine. From this perspective, there are two possible locations for the market. The first is present-day Ichijiri, Miwa, Sakurai City, near the approach to Omi Shrine.
