This dictionary was compiled by the Left Minister Toin Sanehiro during the Muromachi period to pass on to future generations the historical and actual readings of terms and names related to regular and special public affairs, palaces, clothing, etc. It contains about 600 words, categorized into sections such as regular public affairs, special occasions, and clothing, with the readings of each one written in katakana and a brief explanation. Some of the dictionaries only list the chapter titles without the words themselves, so it is believed to have been left incomplete. One handwritten copy by Sanehiro is kept in the Higashiyama Library of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and copies from the end of the Muromachi period have been handed down in the Sonkeikaku Library, the Daitokyu Memorial Library, and the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department.
