Tadashi Katakura

Tadashi Katakura
1898-1991 A military officer in the early Showa period.
Born on May 18, 1898. In 1930, he was attached to the Kwantung Army's General Staff and was active during the Manchurian Incident. He was considered a member of the Control Faction, and was shot by Isobe Asaichi of the Imperial Way Faction during the February 26 Incident. In 1937, he became a staff officer at the Kwantung Army, later a major general and commander of the 202nd Division. He left behind the "Manchurian Incident Secret Political Diary." He passed away on July 23, 1991. He was 93 years old. He was from Fukushima Prefecture. He graduated from the Army War College.

明治31年5月18日生まれ。昭和5年関東軍参謀部付となり,満州事変で活動。統制派とみなされ,二・二六事件では皇道派の磯部浅一に狙撃(そげき)された。12年関東軍参謀,のち陸軍少将,第二百二師団長。「満州事変機密政略日誌」をのこした。平成3年7月23日死去。93歳。福島県出身。陸軍大学校卒。
