Entaro Noguchi

Japanese: 野口援太郎 - のぐちえんたろう

1868-1941 An educator from the Meiji to early Showa periods.
Born on September 18, 1868. Became the first principal of Himeji Normal School in 1901. Founded the Educational Century Society in 1923, and founded Jido no Mura Elementary School in Ikebukuro, Tokyo the following year. Became principal of Josai Gakuen in 1929, and chairman of the New Education Association in 1930. Died on January 11, 1941, at the age of 74. Born in Chikuzen (Fukuoka Prefecture). Graduated from Tokyo Higher Normal School. Written works include "Free Education and Elementary School Teaching Tools."

明治元年9月18日生まれ。34年姫路師範の初代校長となる。大正12年教育の世紀社を創設,翌年東京池袋に児童の村小学校を創立した。14年城西学園長,昭和5年新教育協会会長。昭和16年1月11日死去。74歳。筑前(ちくぜん)(福岡県)出身。東京高師卒。著作に「自由教育と小学校教具」など。
