Miho [village] - Miho
A village in Inashiki District, southern Ibaraki Prefecture. It faces Lake Kasumigaura to the east and north, and National Route 125 runs through it. Rice fields spread along Lake Kasumigaura, where rice is grown, livestock farming on the plateau, and inland fishing in Lake Kasumigaura. The Okadaira Shell Mound in the east is a large Jomon period ruin that was excavated in 1879 and is designated as a national historic site, and there is also a cultural properties research institute nearby. In the south, the Japan Racing Association's Miho Training Center, which opened in 1978 and has a vast site of about 210,000 square meters, is known for training many racehorses, including a famous horse named "Miho". 66.61 km2 . 17,299 people (2010).
