A town in Kamiina County, central Nagano Prefecture. Located in the northern Ina Basin, the Sanshu Kaido (National Route 153) runs under the river terrace on the right bank of the Tenryu River, and the main settlements of Matsushima and Kinoshita are located along the Iida Line. The town is served by the Chuo Expressway. It produces rice, fruit, and vegetables, and also raises livestock. Area: 85.91 km2 . Population: 26,214 (2010). 長野県中部，上伊那郡の町。伊那盆地北部にあり，天竜川右岸の河岸段丘下を通る三州街道（国道153号線），飯田線沿いに主集落の松島と木下がある。中央自動車道が通じる。米，果樹，野菜を産し，畜産も行う。85.91km2。２万6214人（2010）。
