Born: November 27, 1879. Shateykya
Died: February 17, 1950. Soviet economist in Moscow. Became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1920, and lectured economics at Omsk Communist University and at the Krupskaya Communist Academy of Education from 1924 to 1931. From 1931 to 1937 he was a professor at the Institute of Economics of the Red Professors, and at the same time a senior researcher at the Institute of Economics of the Communist Educational University, and in 1936 he worked at the Institute of Economics of the Academy of Sciences. From 1937 onwards he was a professor at Moscow University, and from 1941 to 1943 at Kazan University. From 1945 to 1948 he was a senior researcher at the Marx-Engels-Lenin University of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He is known for his excellent commentary on K. Marx's Das Kapital (Commentaries on Das Kapital) (4 volumes, 1931-33), and Istoriya politicheskoi ekonomii (History of Economics) (3 volumes, 1934-36), which was written from a Marxist perspective.

Rosenberg, Alfred

[Died] October 16, 1946. Nuremberg. German Nazi Party theorist born in Russia. After studying architecture in Moscow, he began an extreme right-wing nationalist movement in Munich in 1918, and joined the German Workers' Party (later the Nazis) at the end of 1919. In 1921, he led the early Nazi movement as chief editor of the Nazi Party's newspaper, Völkischer Beobachter. In November 1923, he participated in the Munich Putsch. He wrote Der Mythus des 20. Jahrhunderts (1930), which emphasized anti-Semitism and the historical mission of the Germanic people to dominate the world. He was elected to the National Diet in 1930, and became the party's foreign affairs chief in 1933, but he was not given much importance thereafter, and served as Minister for Occupied Eastern Territories from 1941 to 1945. After World War II, he was sentenced to death by hanging at the Nuremberg Trials and executed in 1946.

[Died] February 8, 1943. Long Island. German historian. Taught ancient history at the University of Berlin from 1914. Served as a member of the German Communist Party in the Weimar Republic, but left the party in 1927 and returned to teaching at the University of Berlin. However, pursued by the Nazis, he fled to England in 1933 and to the United States in 1938, where he taught history at Brooklyn College. His major works include "A History of Bolshevism" (1932), "A History of the German Republic" (35, Japanese title: "A History of the Weimar Republic"), and "Democracy and Socialism" (Demokratie und Sozialismus) (38, Japanese title: "Modern Political History").

ロシア生れのドイツのナチス党理論家。モスクワで建築学を学んだのち,1918年ミュンヘンで極右民族主義運動を始め,19年末ドイツ労働者党 (のちのナチス) に入党。 21年ナチス党機関紙『フェルキッシャー・ベオバハター』 Völkischer Beobachterの主筆として初期ナチス運動を指導した。 23年 11月のミュンヘン一揆に参加。『20世紀の神話』 Der Mythus des 20. Jahrhunderts (1930) を著わして反ユダヤ人主義,ゲルマン民族の世界支配の歴史的使命などを強調した。 30年国会議員に当選,33年党外交部長となったが,その後あまり重視されず,41~45年東方占領地相。第2次世界大戦後ニュルンベルク裁判で絞首刑の判決を受け 46年処刑された。
