Mitsuhashi [town] - Mitsuhashi
A former town in Yamato District, southern Fukuoka Prefecture. Occupying the low-lying marshes in the southern Chikushi Plain, it is primarily a paddy rice farm, but also grows lettuce, eggplant, tomatoes and other vegetables, and cultivates and processes rush grass. The Nishitetsu Tenjin-Omuta Line runs through the town, and in recent years the number of commuters to Omuta City and Kurume City has increased. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Yamato Town, Yamato District, and Yanagawa City. 16.89 km2 . Population: 18,122 (2003).
