[raw]? [Died] 1760 A blind koto performer and composer in the mid-Edo period. His name was Yano Miyako. He was a member of the Shido school and a student of Kurahashi Kengyo (a disciple of Ikuta Kengyo). His pupils included Kikuzaki Kengyo, Kiyohashi Koto, and Tomino Koto. He came to Edo before Hase Tomikengyo, and was the first to popularize the Ikuta style in Edo. His works include the koto group songs "Ukifune," "Setsugetsuka," "Shiki Fuji," "Shiki Koi," "Tamakazura," and "Miyauguisu," as well as a revival of the ancient work "Hashihime."
