Mount Utsugi

Japanese: 空木岳 - うつぎだけ
Mount Utsugi
A mountain in the Kiso Mountains in Nagano Prefecture. It is 2,864 meters above sea level. It has steep slopes on both the east and west sides, overlooking the Ina Basin and the Kiso Valley. It is said that the mountain got its name from the fact that when viewed from the Ina Basin in early spring, the pattern of the remaining snow looks like the blooming Deutzias flowers. It belongs to the Central Alps Prefectural Park, and has been selected as one of the 100 famous mountains of Japan.
