Mount Mizugaki

Japanese: 瑞牆山 - みずがきやま

This mountain is located in the western part of the Chichibu Mountains in the Suwamachi district of Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and is part of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park. It is 2,230 meters above sea level. It is made of biotite granite, and weathering and erosion along the joints have been remarkable. The western and southern sides are surrounded by many rock peaks. The Kamase River, which flows west, has a beautiful autumn foliage with its white rock walls as a backdrop. There is a bus service from Nirasaki Station on the JR Chuo Main Line to Masutomi Onsen at the foot of the mountain.

山梨県北杜市(ほくとし)須玉町(すたまちょう)地区にある秩父山地(ちちぶさんち)西部の山で、秩父多摩甲斐(ちちぶたまかい)国立公園に含まれる。標高2230メートル。黒雲母花崗(うんもかこう)岩からなり、節理に沿う風化、侵食が著しく、西および南面は多くの岩峰に取り囲まれる。西に流下する釜瀬川(かませがわ)はその白い岩壁を背景に紅葉が美しい。JR中央本線韮崎(にらさき)駅から山麓(さんろく)の増富(ますとみ)温泉まではバスの便がある。
