Mishima [town] - Mishima
A former town in Santo District, central Niigata Prefecture. To the east is part of the Echigo Plain, and to the west is hilly land. Wakino, in the center, is located on the edge of the hills. The town is known for its blacksmithing products such as saws, and sake. The remains of Ogino Castle, a medieval mountain castle, are a popular tourist spot. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Nagaoka City along with Nakanoshima Town in Minamikanbara District, Koshi Town in Mito District, Oguni Town in Kariwa District, and Yamakoshi Village in Koshi District. Area: 36.47 km2 . Population: 7,455 (2003).

A town in Onuma County, western Fukushima Prefecture. Most of the area is mountainous, with the main settlement Miyashita near the confluence of the Tadami River and its tributary, the Otani River, along the Tadami Line. The main industries are agriculture and forestry. There is Mishima Shrine, Miyashita Dam, and Miyashita Power Station. 90.81 km2 . 1,926 people (2010).
