A village in Minamiazumi County in the mid-west of Nagano Prefecture. Population 15,550 (1995). Located in the western part of the Matsumoto Basin, on the composite alluvial fan of the Kurosawa River and Azusa River. Mount Kurosawa (2,051m) towers in the southwest, and the village area is divided into the fruit and field crop area of the Kurosawa River alluvial fan, and the gently sloping rice paddy area of the Azusa River alluvial fan below. The central settlement is Hitoichiba, which is served by the JR Oito Line. In addition to rice, apples, grapes, strawberries and enoki mushrooms are cultivated. 長野県中西部,南安曇(みなみあずみ)郡の村。人口1万5550(1995)。松本盆地の西部に位置し,黒沢川,梓川の複合扇状地上にある。南西部には黒沢山(2051m)がそびえ,村域は黒沢川扇状地の果樹・畑作地帯と,その下方に広がる緩傾斜の梓川扇状地の水田地帯に区分される。中心集落は一日市場(ひといちば)で,JR大糸線が通じる。米作のほか,リンゴ,ブドウ,イチゴ,エノキタケの栽培が行われる。松本市に近いため近年住宅地化が進み,人口は増大している。
