Going outside a spacecraft and walking around in space. The problems are weight and lack of footholds, so a space swarm connects the body to the spacecraft with a lifeline that supplies oxygen and other fluids, and moves around using a space gun or an MMU (extravehicular mobility unit) without a lifeline. In March 1965, Lt. Colonel A. Leonov of the Soviet Union's Voskhod 2 became the first man in history to successfully perform a spacewalk that lasted about 10 minutes. In June 1965, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel EH White of Gemini 4 became the first American to perform a spacewalk that lasted 20 minutes.
