Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome

...Causes include cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, cerebral arteriosclerosis, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and subdural hemorrhage. Dementia can also be caused by metabolic diseases such as myxedema, hepatic and cerebral degeneration, hypopituitarism, and poisoning such as Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (due to alcoholism), pellagra, carbon monoxide poisoning, and organic compound poisoning. It can also occur due to head trauma caused by external force.
