Japanese: 美川[町] - みかわ

A former town in Kuga County in eastern Yamaguchi Prefecture. It occupies the middle reaches of the Nishiki River and is mostly mountainous. Farmland is scattered on the mountain slopes, producing rice, chestnuts, and plums. The Kawayama Mine, which produced copper and iron sulfide ore, closed in 1971. The Nishiki River Railway runs through the town. There is a habitat for the Japanese bush frog (a natural monument) in Nagwa. In March 2006, it was incorporated into Iwakuni City along with the towns of Yu, Kuga, Shuto, Nishiki, Miwa, and Hongo in Kuga County. ^{75.85 km2} . 1,806 people (2003).

An old town in Ishikawa County in southern Ishikawa Prefecture, occupying both banks of the mouth of the Tedori River. The main settlement was called Motoyoshi in the Edo period, and it was an important port on the Sea of Japan. It is served by the Hokuriku Main Line and the Hokuriku Expressway, and has a thriving textile industry, as well as specialty products such as Buddhist altars and embroidery. In February 2005, it merged with Matto City, Ishikawa County's Tsurugi Town, Kawachi Village, Yoshinotani Village, Torigoe Village, Oguchi Village, and Shiramine Village to become Hakusan City. ^{9.12 km2} . 山口県東部，玖珂(くが)郡の旧町。錦川の中流域を占め，大部分は山地。農地は山地斜面に点在し，米，クリ，ウメを産する。銅，硫化鉄鉱を産した河山(かわやま)鉱山は1971年に閉山した。錦川鉄道が通じる。南桑(なぐわ)にカジカガエル生息地（天然記念物）がある。2006年３月玖珂郡由宇町，玖珂町，周東町，錦町，美和町，本郷村と岩国市へ編入。75.85km²。1806人（2003）。

石川県南部，手取(てどり)川河口両岸を占める石川郡の旧町。主集落は江戸時代には本吉といい，日本海の要港であった。北陸本線，北陸自動車道が通じ，繊維工業が盛んなほか，仏壇・刺繍(ししゅう)品を特産する。2005年２月松任市，石川郡鶴来町，河内村，吉野谷村，鳥越村，尾口村，白峰村と合併し市制，白山市となる。9.12km²。１万3268人（2003）。
