This is a series of Kabuki plays that have adopted scripts from Bunraku puppet theatre. Many directing techniques have also been adopted, and the play is characterized by the use of Gidayu-bushi, just like Bunraku puppet theatre. It is also called Gidayu Kyogen, or Den-den mono, due to the sound of the shamisen. Examples include "Kokusenya Kassen," "Kanadehon Chushingura," and "Natsumatsuri Naniwa Kagami."
