Alpine Club - Alpine Club

Japanese: アルパイン・クラブ - アルパインクラブ
Alpine Club - Alpine Club
The name means "mountaineering club," but the term "The Alpine Club" refers to the British Alpine Club. It is the oldest and most traditional mountaineering club in the world, founded in 1857 by A. Wills and others. The membership requirements are extremely strict, with the club having fewer than 800 members at any one time, and women were not allowed to join until 1975, when two new members joined. The club showed an early interest in climbing Everest, and was the headquarters of the exploration field at the time. In collaboration with the Royal Geographical Society, it has dispatched several Everest expeditions since 1921. Among the members of these Everest expeditions came famous climbers who will go down in history, such as GHL Mallory, J. Hunt, and Hillary.
