Japanese: 数珠引 - じゅずひき
Pulling the beads - Juzuhiki
A craftsman who makes prayer beads. He appears as a rosary puller in the Seventy-first Poetry Contest, and is also called a "juzu-shi" in Jinrin Kunmong Zui and Imayo Shokuninzu Hyakunin Isshu. A prayer bead shop can also be seen in the Rakuchu Rakugaizu. The craftsman depicted there is dressed as a monk and uses a maigiri (a dance cone), but the organization of his work has not yet been made clear. [Amino Yoshihiko]
