American black movement leader. His real name was Malcolm Little. He was active in the black movement group Black Muslims, but left in 1964 after being criticized for his radical behavior. He later founded his own organizations, the Muslim Mosque and the Organization of African-American Unity. He advocated a "black revolution" with the intention of collaborating with the civil rights movement, but was assassinated soon after.
