Minami Kiso [town] - Nagiso
A town in Kiso County in southwestern Nagano Prefecture. It lies at the exit of the Kiso Valley, and its central town of Midono developed as a post town on the Nakasendo road, with the Chuo Main Line passing through it. Tsumago, at the northern foot of Magome Pass, is another post town that retains traces of the old Nakasendo road, and the Ohira Highway that leads to Iida City branches off here. It is famous for its cypress trees, and the woodworking industry is thriving. 215.93 km2 . 4,810 people (2010).

長野県南西部,木曾郡の町。木曾谷の出口を占め,中心の三留野(みどの)は中山道の宿場町として発達,中央本線が通じる。馬籠(まごめ)峠北麓の妻籠(つまご)も中山道の昔の面影を残す宿場町で,飯田市に通じる大平(おおだいら)街道が分かれる。ヒノキの産地として有名で,木工業が盛ん。215.93km2。4810人(2010)。
