Malik Shah

Japanese: マリク・シャー(英語表記)Malik Shāh
Malik Shah
1055‐92
The third Sultan of the Seljuk Empire. Reigned 1072-92. He established his position within the Seljuk Empire by suppressing the rebellion of Kabuld Beg, and with the help of his vizier Nizam al-Mulk, he established the Iqta system and reorganized the slave army. He built public buildings and city walls in the cities of Isfahan, Baghdad, and Khorasan, and seized territory from the Kara-Khanid dynasty in the east and the Marwanid dynasty and Byzantine Empire in the west, achieving the largest territory in the history of the dynasty. He died suddenly in Baghdad shortly after the assassination of Nizam al-Mulk, and this marked the division of the dynasty into the East and West.
