A general term for Baekje music, Goguryeo music, and Silla music, which were introduced from the Asuka period to the Nara period. It refers to Korean music that was introduced to Japan at the time, before it was completed as "Komagaku" among Japanese gagaku. However, calling Korea at that time the Three Kingdoms is misleading, and some say it should be called the Three Kingdoms. Today, the actual nature of Samhan music is unclear. It is sometimes used synonymously with the so-called "Komagaku" mentioned above.
