These are bean-shaped or blood blisters that develop as a result of repeated mechanical stimulation, and mainly appear on the palms and soles of the feet. When using horizontal bars, rowing, or golf, they appear on the pads of the fingers or the borders between the fingers and the palm, and when wearing unfamiliar footwear, they appear on the soles, heels, and the areas where the straps of sandals or thongs touch. At first, these areas become red and painful, and then blisters or blood blisters form. Histologically, these blisters form between the epidermis and dermis, and when they break and the dermis is exposed, the pain intensifies. Blood blisters are blisters that contain blood, and are different from hematomas. Treatment involves avoiding the mechanical stimulation that caused the condition, removing the contents with a sterilized needle, and applying solutions such as "Isodine solution" or "Hibitane solution." If the blisters break and the eroded surface is exposed, it is best to cover them with an ointment containing an antibiotic.
