A village in the southeast of Loja Province in southern Ecuador. It is located in a valley in the Andes Mountains, about 30 km south of the provincial capital, Loja, at an altitude of about 1,700 m. The main industry is agriculture, with corn, potatoes, wheat, etc. Blessed with an extremely comfortable climate with an average monthly temperature of 17 to 20 degrees Celsius, it is not uncommon for people to live to be over 100 years old, and it is known worldwide as a village of longevity.
