...Agricultural tools excavated from ruins from this period have already taken on developed and differentiated forms, with flat hoes and straddle hoes, and there are two types of flat hoes with handles attached at an angle of nearly 90 degrees for use as a hitting hoe, and about 60 degrees for use as a pulling hoe. Other tools found include eburi (rice paddy hoes) for leveling rice fields, rice clogs for burying weeds in the fields, and rice boats for carrying harvested rice. These had already developed in the Jiangnan region of China, and were introduced as components of the rice cultivation system along with rice cultivation. ...
