Matsudaira Choshichiro
1614-1661 A samurai from the early Edo period.
Born in 1614. Said to be the eldest son of Tokugawa Tadanaga. After his father committed seppuku, he became a wanderer and was protected by Tokugawa Yorinobu and others. His eccentric behavior during his wanderings has been dramatized and featured in plays, storytelling, and television dramas. He died in 1660. He was 48 years old. His name was Nagayori.

慶長19年生まれ。徳川忠長(ただなが)の長男とつたえられる。父の切腹後,流浪の身となり,徳川頼宣(よりのぶ)らの庇護(ひご)をうけたという。放浪中の奇行が脚色され演劇,講談,テレビドラマなどにとりあげられている。寛文元年死去。48歳。名は長頼。
