Ussuriysk (English spelling) Ussuriysk

A city in Primorsky Krai, eastern Russia. It was called Nikol'sk-Ussuriyskiy until 1935, and Voroshilov until 1957. It is located 112 km north of Vladivostok, on the Trans-Siberian Railway, on the banks of the Lazdrinnaya River. Population 158,400 (1999). Industries include food (dairy, sugar, flour milling, meat), machine building, locomotive repair, leather, footwear, and sewing. The city was founded in 1898. It has a pedagogical university and a drama theater.

ロシア連邦東部、沿海地方の都市。1935年までニコリスク・ウスリースキーНикольск－Уссурийский／Nikol'sk-Ussuriyskiy、1957年までボロシーロフВорошилов／Voroshilovと称した。ウラジオストクの北方112キロメートル、シベリア鉄道の沿線、ラズドリナヤ川沿岸に位置する。人口15万8400（1999）。食料品（乳業、砂糖、製粉、精肉）、機械製造、機関車修理、皮革・履き物、縫製の工業がある。市は1898年に形成された。教育大学やドラマ劇場がある。
