Japanese: 舞阪[町] - まいさか

A former town located on the eastern shore of Lake Hamana, Hamana District, Shizuoka Prefecture. The main settlement developed as a ferry terminal and post town on the Tokaido Highway, and is served by the Tokaido Main Line and National Route 1. It is home to Benten Island, and is famous as a beach and tourist destination. Eel and soft-shelled turtle farming is thriving, and the town's specialty products are clams, seaweed, and oysters. Seafood processing and musical instrument manufacturing are also carried out. In July 2005, it was incorporated into Hamamatsu City along with Tenryu City, Hamakita City, Haruno Town in Shuchi District, Sakuma Town in Iwata District, Misakubo Town, Tatsuyama Village, Yutome Town in Hamana District, Hosoe Town, Inasa Town, and Mikkabi Town in Inasa District. ^{4.63 km2} . 静岡県浜名郡，浜名湖東岸に位置する旧町。主集落は東海道の渡船場，宿場町として発達，東海道本線，国道１号線が通じる。弁天島があり，海水浴場，観光地として有名。ウナギ・スッポン養殖が盛んで，アサリ，ノリ，カキを特産する。水産加工，楽器製造も行われる。2005年７月天竜市，浜北市，周智郡春野町，磐田郡佐久間町，水窪町，龍山村，浜名郡雄踏町，引佐郡細江町，引佐町，三ヶ日町と浜松市へ編入。4.63km²。１万1673人（2003）。
