Mycop
A city in the northern Caucasus, Russia. Located near the Black Sea coast, it is the capital of the Adygei Republic. Industries include alcohol, various canned goods, and tobacco. Relics excavated from a kurgan here in 1897 are famous for the Maykop culture (a pastoral culture from the 3rd millennium BC) that has deep ties to Western Asia. 154,647 people (2009).
