…the platform adopted at the All-German Social Democratic Workers' Congress held in Eisenach, Germany in August 1869 by Bebel, W. Liebknecht and others from the Federation of German Workers' Associations, and Wilhelm Bracke (1842-1880), who had left Schweitzer's All-German Workers' Association. The Social Democratic Workers' Party was founded as a result.

...The immediate demands listed 14 items inherited from previous movements, such as the introduction of universal suffrage. In response to the draft published two months earlier, Marx wrote a thorough critique to Wilhelm Bracke (1842-80) of the Eisenach school. This Critique of the Gotha Programme was hardly used by the parties involved, such as W. Liebknecht, who placed more importance on the realization of unity than theory, but it is important as a document that shows Marx's theory of the state in his later years and his criticism of Lassalle, and was published by Engels during the process of creating the next Erfurt Programme (1891).
