Poncho - Poncho (English spelling) poncho Spanish

Originally, it was an outer garment worn by the indigenous people of the Andes Mountains in South America. It is a head-covering garment with a hole in the center of the fabric through which the head can pass, and is one of the basic forms of clothing. Originally, it was the name of a brightly colored fabric woven from hemp and llama hair, but it is said that the name was mistakenly conveyed by the Spanish as the type of clothing made from this fabric, and came to refer to the type of clothing. It can be worn as an outer garment with the head sticking out of the hole in the center, or used as a blanket as is. Today, it is popular worldwide as outerwear to protect against the cold, a raincoat, etc.
