Bolān Pass (English spelling)

Japanese: ボーラーン[峠]（英語表記）Bolān Pass

This pass is located in the saddle of the Brahi Mountains in the central Baluchistan Province in western Pakistan. It is an undulating corridor-like pass that stretches for about 90 km. The highest point is about 1,800 m above sea level. In addition to roads, a railway runs through the provincial capital Quetta to Chaman on the Afghanistan border and Zahedan in Iran. It has played an important role in history as a key point on the transportation route connecting inland Asia with the Indus Plain. It is said that in prehistoric times, the Indus civilization was connected to the agricultural cultures of the Iranian plateau via this pass from the beginning.
