Peruvian chronicler. An Indian who claimed to be a descendant of the royal family of the Huánuco region. He became a Christian, learned Spanish, and wrote New Records and Good Government (published in 1636) around 1613. This two-part work is a valuable resource that uses numerous illustrations to describe politics, society, and culture from the pre-Inca period to the Spanish period. He does not comment on the legitimacy of the Spanish conquest and rule, but rather takes a realistic stance, but on the other hand he argues for the division of the Indian world and the Spanish world and the construction of a new kingdom centered on Cusco.

ペルーの年代記作者。ワヌコ地方の王族の子孫と自称するインディオ。キリスト教徒となり，スペイン語を習得し，1613年ごろ《新しい記録と良き統治》(1936刊)を著す。2部から成るこの作品は数多くの挿絵を用いてインカ以前の時代からスペイン支配の時代に至る政治，社会，文化などを記した貴重な資料である。スペイン人による征服･支配の正当性には言及せず，むしろ現実主義的な立場をとっているが，他方ではインディオ世界とスペイン人世界を二分してクスコを中心とした新しい王国の建設を主張した。
