A medieval samurai family whose main territory was Usami Manor in Tagata County, Izu Province. It began when Sukeshige (Sukeshige), a member of the powerful Kudo clan of Izu, lived in Usami and called himself Usami Saburo. Originally, Usami Manor, together with Ito Manor and Kawazu Manor, was called Kusumi Manor and was owned by Suketaka, who called himself Kudo Dayu. Suketaka, who was unable to find an heir, adopted a child born to his second wife's daughter (child from a previous marriage), named him Suketsugu, and gave Ito and Usami to his eldest grandson Sukechika, and thus Kusumi Manor was divided into separate territories.
