Legal profession forest - Hosso Ruirin

Japanese: 法曹類林 - ほっそうるいりん

This legal text was written in the late Heian period. It was compiled by Fujiwara Michinori (Shinzei). It was a large volume, said to have consisted of either 230 or 730 volumes, but today only three volumes remain: volumes 192, 197, and 200. It cites the interpretations and commentaries of Myohoka (ritual code scholars) on ancient ritsuryo and legal systems, and contains materials from the early 8th century that are not found in other books, making it a valuable work. It is included in the Shin-Tei-Zoho Kokushi Taikei, Kaisei Shiseki Shuran, and Gunsho Ruiju. [Hayakawa Shohachi]
