Kamiminada ruins

Japanese: 上箕田遺跡 - かみみだいせき

Located in the middle of a rice field south of Kamiminoda-cho, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, in the middle of an alluvial plain about 2km from the current coastline, this settlement remains from the entire Yayoi period. A graveyard from the late Kofun period, a group of postholes from the late Heian period, and a medieval ditch have also been discovered. Two excavations, one in 1960 for rice paddy restoration work and one in 1968-69 for field preparation, have uncovered a ditch from the early Yayoi period, a waterway with a row of posts from the late Yayoi period, square moated tombs, and ditch-like remains from the Kofun period and a group of earthenware coffins.

三重県鈴鹿市上箕田町の南方にある水田中に位置し，現在の海岸線から約2km余入った沖積平野の真ん中にある，弥生時代の全期間を通しての集落遺跡。古墳時代後期の墓地，平安時代後半の柱穴群，中世の溝なども検出されている。1960年の水田改修工事と，68‐69年におこなった圃場整備にともなう2度の発掘調査により，弥生時代前期の溝，同後期の杭列をともなう水路や方形周溝墓，古墳時代の溝状遺構と甕棺群がみつかっている。
