Radiation Hazard Prevention Law

The "Law Concerning Prevention of Radiation Hazards Due to Radioisotopes, etc." was promulgated in June 1957. It strictly regulates the use, sale, and disposal of radioisotopes, as well as the use of radiation generating devices and the disposal of contaminated materials. Regarding exposure limits (permissible dose, permissible exposure dose, etc.), standard values are reviewed as appropriate based on the new recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP).

1957年6月に公布された「放射性同位元素等による放射線障害の防止に関する法律」。放射性同位元素の使用，販売，廃棄のほか，放射線発生装置の使用，汚染物質の廃棄などについて厳しく規制している。被曝制限 (許容線量，許容被曝線量等) については，適宜，国際放射線防護委員会 (ICRP) 新勧告に基づき基準値の見直しが行われている。
