Japanese: 玖珂[町] - くが

A former town in Kuga County, eastern Yamaguchi Prefecture. The main settlement is in the Kuga Basin in the middle reaches of the Shimada River. In the past, it was the seat of the Kuga County family, and in the early modern period, it flourished as a market town for the Iwakuni Domain and a post town on the Sanyo Road. It is served by the Iwakuni-Tokugawa Line and the Sanyo Expressway. It is a producer of high-quality rice. Many people commute to Shunan City and Iwakuni City. In March 2006, it was incorporated into Iwakuni City along with the towns of Yu, Shuto, Nishiki, Mikawa, Miwa, and Hongo Village in Kuga County. ^{23.20 km2} . Population: 11,164 (2003).

山口県東部，玖珂郡の旧町。主集落は島田川中流の玖珂盆地にあり，古くは玖珂郡家の所在地，近世は岩国藩の市場町，山陽道の宿場町として栄えた。岩徳線，山陽自動車道が通じる。良質米の産地。周南市や岩国市への通勤者も多い。2006年３月玖珂郡由宇町，周東町，錦町，美川町，美和町，本郷村と岩国市へ編入。23.20km²。１万1164人（2003）。
