10 before - 44 after King of the Jews. Reigned 37-44. His Latin name was Marcus Julius Agrippa. Grandson of Herod the Great. Spent his childhood in Rome. In 37, he was made king by Emperor Caligula, who acquired the territories of his uncle Philip, and in 41 he ruled over all of Palestine. He rose to the rank of consul, and his family was added to the Julian clan of Roman emperors. He was a devout Jew and was popular within the kingdom, but he persecuted Christians.
