In 1935, under the control of the two major financial capitalists, Rockefeller and Morgan, eight major companies (known as "major"), namely Paramount, Warner Brothers, MGM, 20th Century Fox, RKO, Universal, Columbia, and United Artists, organized the MPPA (Motion Picture Producers Association of America) and monopolized 95% of distribution. The five major companies, Paramount, Warner, MGM, 20th Century Fox, and RKO, produced nearly 80% of American films, owned 4,000 first-class premiere theaters, and are said to have earned 88% of the total sales (box office revenue). ...
