A river in northeastern Mongolia. It is also called the Kerlen River. Its Chinese name is the Kelulun River. It originates in the Hentei Mountains and flows into Lake Dalai-Nur (Hulun-Nur) in Inner Mongolia. Its total length is 1,264 km. The river basin has been an important nomadic area for the Mongolian people since ancient times. The water is shallow, making boat transport inconvenient.
