1904‐2002 A French pianist of Polish origin. He studied under M. Moszkowski in his hometown, and then under A. Cortot at the Paris Conservatoire. In 1927, he became acquainted with M. Ravel, who studied all of the composer's piano works in depth, learning from the composer himself, and was highly praised for his performances. Later, he co-authored with Hélène Jourdan-Molange, "Ravel d'après Ravel" (1953, translated into Japanese in 1970), based on radio conversations with the composer.
