Born: 1120, Saxony [died]1177 onwards. Bosau German chronicler. Author of the Slavic Chronicle (Cronica Slavorum). He was active in northern Germany and wrote in this chronicle about the actual conditions of the German colonization of the Slavic lands in the eastern part of Germany. It is a valuable source of information on the progress of the eastern colonization, the exploits of Henry the Lion, the conversion of the Slavs to Christianity, and the founding of the city of Lübeck.
