German journalist. Born in the Jewish ghetto in Frankfurt. In 1818, he founded the literary magazine "Wage" and began his literary career. After moving to Paris, Bernet's political commentary was best represented in "Notice from Paris" (1832-1834), which mercilessly exposed Germany's anachronistic current state, using a sharp and witty style of writing. Bernet was considered a leader of the "Young Germans" along with Heine, but the two were in sharp conflict over "political revolution or social revolution?" and eventually parted ways in a fierce clash of slander and personal grudges. Bernet's short 50-year life was that of a pure revolutionary who stubbornly maintained his republican beliefs. It is no exaggeration to say that he inherited the political journalism of the German Jacobins.
