Japanese: 日本書紀伝 - にほんしょきでん

A commentary by Suzuki Shigetane. It was completed in 1862 (Bunkyu 2) and consisted of 30 volumes (but was left unfinished). Shigetane began writing this book in 1853 (Kaei 6) after completing the Engishiki Norito Lectures, and had written up to the Tenson Korin Chapter when he was assassinated in 1863, but it was left unfinished. However, it is an attempt at an unparalleled detailed commentary on the Kamiyo-maki chapter of the Nihon Shoki. It is notable for not merely interpreting the words and phrases, but deploying a wealth of knowledge to investigate ancient events. [Hirano Hitoshi]

注釈書。鈴木重胤著。1862年(文久2)30巻まで成る(未完)。重胤は《延喜式祝詞講義》を脱稿したのち，1853年(嘉永6)に本書の執筆をはじめ，63年暗殺されたときに〈天孫降臨章〉まで書かれていたが，未完に終わった。しかし《日本書紀》神代巻について比類のない詳細な注釈を試みたものである。字句を単に解釈するにとどまらず，古事を究明するために豊富な知識を展開しているのが特徴である。【平野仁啓】
